With the demands of a 30 year career in the advertising industry working for art studios and advertising agencies now behind me, I have been pursuing my passion to paint.
I am a self-taught artist, with my primary medium being watercolor. I work from collections of photographs to create works which include floral, animals, still life, buildings, beach scenes, landscapes, portraits, and anything else that could create a worthwhile, aesthetically pleasing composition. I strive to capture light, depth, and contrast in my paintings with a method that is a mix between realism and impressionism.
The advertising business has countless and varied awards, and I have been honored that many of my designs have been selected to win over the years. Those awards, however, pale by comparison to seeing the emotional expression on a viewer’s face when they connect with one of my paintings.
Concept and color are subjective… what the viewer feels is priceless.
I am now happy to share the gift I have been given by teaching classes at Fayette Progressive Industries to mentally and physically challenged adults.
